About Steven Goldstein

Steven Goldstein has served as the NOAA liaison to FEMA HQ for seven years. He has over 30 years of experience providing weather decision support to emergency managers at the local, regional and national levels. He has worked at weather forecast offices in Buffalo, Reno, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Lubbock and Washington DC. He worked at NWS HQ for four years, providing input to national decision support policy. In Sacramento he was an ‘incident meteorologist’, providing on-site forecasts and decision support for a dozen wildfires in seven states while running the Fire Weather program. He has also provided weather support for several National Special Security Events including the 2013 Presidential Inauguration, the State of the Union Address and Republican and Democratic National conventions.
